Sports Performance and Athletic Training Services, LLC was founded in 2008 by Jeff Hopp and Hank Dunlap.
Jeff Hopp, ATC, LAT (Owner): Jeff graduated from Minnesota State University Mankato in 1994 with a B.S. in athletic training and was certified by the NATA in June of 1994. After graduating, he spent the 1994 NFL season with the Minnesota Vikings as an assistant athletic trainer. He moved to NFL Europe as the head athletic trainer for the Barcelona Dragons from 1995-1997. Jeff found his way to Georgia in 1995 to work at Resurgens Orthopaedics as a physician extender and providing outreach coverage to local high schools. In 2002, he took his current position as the head athletic trainer for Marietta High School. Jeff has provided medical coverage for the 1996 Olympics and the USA national Team Handball teams at various international events. He served as the medical coordinator for the 2007 US National Paralympic Track and Field Championships. He currently serves the Georgia Athletic Trainers' Association as the Vice President and has served in the past as treasurer and secondary schools representative.
Hank Dunlap, MS, ATC, LAT (owner): Hank graduated from the University of Florida in 1994 and was certified by the NATA in 1994. After graduating, he taught high school and middle school and worked as the head athletic trainer at Gainesville High School and Oak Hall School. He worked with Lake City Medical Center one year as head of Senior Wellness, as well as head athletic trainer at Columbia County High School. Hank joined the athletic training staff of University High School in Orlando in 2000, where he served as assistant athletic trainer for four years. He currently works for Lockheed Martin full time and has been the head athletic trainer for Sequoyah High School since 2006. He currently serves the Georgia Athletic Trainers' Association as the secondary schools representative
Dr. Robert Kelly, MD (Medical Director): Dr. Kelly graduated from Notre Dame in 1976 and received his M.D from the University of Miami in 1984. Since obtaining his M.D., Dr. Kelly has served as team doctor or orthopedic consultant for professional, college, and high school athletics, including Birmingham Fire (of World League of American Football), University of Miami, Samford College, Reinhardt College, Morehouse College, and several high schools in Cherokee, Cobb, Gilmer, and Fannin counties in north Georgia. He has also served as Medical Director for several special events, including SEC Championship Game, SEC Basketball Tournament, ACC Basketball Tournament, American Express International Golf Tournament, Sampras/Courier Nike Super Showdown, and Ralston Gorman Tennis Academy. His other responsibilities have included Chief of Orthopedics, Kennestone Hospital, and Medical Consultant for several events, including 1996 Olympic Games - Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, and Synchronized Swimming, AT & T Tennis Challenge, and the AVP Tour.
